In the last year, we have experienced a number of incredible celestial phenomena over the Rocky Mountains, including the Great American Eclipse and the Double Super Moons. Investigating the extraordinary quality of light these phenomena radiate over the high-altitude landscape, K Contemporary artist, Sarah Winkler, explores how this light effects our perception, depth, mood and experience.

Sarah Winkler is originally from Manchester, UK and is now residing in Morrison, CO . This international favorite of commercial and private clients, has been exhibiting since 2004; her work was showcased at the LA Art Fair in 2018 and is featured in many prominent private, corporate and public collections including: Hilton, West Palm Beach, FL, Cosmopolitan Hotel of Las Vegas, NV, Ritz Carlton, Denver, CO, San Francisco General Hospital, Chevron, San Ramon, CA, The Phoenician, Scottsdale, AZ, Intercontinental Hotel, Minneapolis and many others.

Kalliopi Monoyios has been covering the intersection of science and art since 2011 when she co-founded Symbiartic, Scientific American's first science art blog. With a geology degree from Princeton University and 15 years working as a scientific illustrator with the preeminent paleontologist Neil Shubin (The University of Chicago), she is uniquely suited to navigate the ways in which art and science collide.
