Aspen and Cottonwood trees create a color spectacle across the high altitude mountainous landscape during the peak of the Fall season. Ridge lines and forests shift chromatic hues vividly during a two week spell in September. Turning from bright greens to yellows, to oranges to reds, to rusts to browns. The wide angle landscape creates islands of floating color. I chose to focus my painting on these shifting patches of vibrant color as it relates to the mountainous landscape at large.
