An ongoing series of paintings interpreting the geological narrative and light sensations across the high desert environment.
The Western American high desert country is a landscape of breathtaking contrasts. This evaporated ancient sea of minerals formed into twisted slot canyons, towering steeples of Hoodoo red rock and fragile Arches. The light, the textures, the colors of this surreal geological wonderland appearing and disappearing in this vast glassy mirage basin between horizons. A landscape of water and wind erosion.
