A new 60x60" painting in matte acrylics and crushed: Gold Mica, Iron Oxide and marble dust is almost finished. It has taken about a month or so from start to finish. Lots of great geological textures featured in this painting, plus a color palette that is warming up with rich red-violets and warmer indigo blues in the horizon band of interest. The gold mica placed in the center of the gold/violet color field really adds that extra metallic sparkle to this mineral rich piece. I'm going to let is rest and see if it's really "done" yet.
