The high desert country of the Western US is a landscape of breathtaking geological contrasts. An evaporated ancient sea of minerals formed into twisted slot canyons, towering steeples of Hoodoo red rock and fragile arches. The light, textures and colors of this basin wilderness are forever changing, appearing and disappearing in a vast mirage of open space flanked by remote horizons. A landscape of morning stillness and afternoon thunder, extreme drought and flash flooding, painted rocks and mosaic dust clouds, summer heat and winter snow. This collection of paintings explores these natural cyclical narratives that have shaped this dramatic landscape.
