The Winter Mountain series of paintings connects us from the mineral rich heart of the inner mountain to the vast luminous winter skies above the peaks. The work glows with mica infused pigments, minerals and marble dust deposited into the layers of paint. The colors and dazzling textures capture the enchanted snow capped slopes of ski resorts and backcountry Rocky Mountains under blankets of snow, natural hot springs, frozen lakes and magical evergreen forests. All the while chasing that elusive light of the Winter Solstice.
