The Swiss Alps showcase a complex and dynamic geology shaped over hundreds of millions of years. Glacial activity has further sculpted the Swiss Alps, carving deep U-shaped valleys and sharp ridges. The exposed bedrock and rugged terrain offer a window into the ongoing geological processes, including uplift, erosion, and rock deformation, which continue to define this iconic landscape.
An invitation to paint the Lauterbrunnen Valley in the Canton of Bern by the owners of the Hotel Oberland in the Spring of 2025, produced a collection of work featuring the infamous Staubbach waterfall, the steep valley cliff walls, alpine flowered meadows and the milky white water of the Weisse Lütschine river.
