Sea to Sky - British Columbia + Canadian Rockies
The Sea to Sky corridor in British Columbia, Canada, is shaped by plate tectonics, glaciation, and volcanism. Glaciers carved fjords, valleys, and ridges, notably in Garibaldi Provincial Park. Volcanic activity created features like Black Tusk and Mount Garibaldi, an ancient stratovolcano. Eastward, the landscape shifts to the Rockies in Alberta, with limestone, shale, and dolomite rock layers from ancient seabeds uplifted and folded in compression waves by the Laramide orogeny. Glaciers, Icefields and glacial lakes creates the corridor's striking alpine landscapes.
